We understand the value of your privacy, and we are committed to protecting it.  This privacy policy sets out how Dataca Pty Ltd ABN 30 120 580 912 (“Dataca”, “we”, “us” and “our”). collects, uses and safeguards your information and the choices you can make about the way your information is collected and used.

What personal information we collect

We only collect and use personal information from you if it is relevant to our relationship with you such as to fulfil your requests, supply you with goods and services, or to assist our internal administration and operations including accounting, record keeping and so forth. The amount of information we collect about you depends on what information you provide to us, how you use our Website, and what goods and services you purchase.

When you make requests (online, by email, phone, fax or mail) for products and services we may ask for your contact information such as your name, email address, address and phone number. Specifically when you purchase goods or services we will also ask for billing details. We also collect information about your use of goods and services, technical information about your equipment and IT systems, and any preferences you may tell us about.

We also collect statistical information when you visit our website, complete surveys or use our Services. For example our web servers may record information about your visit, such as your Internet Protocol (IP) address, the name of your Internet service provider, the Internet address of the previous website you have visited, the date and time of your visit, the type of browser you are using, and the pages that you accessed at our website.

At times you can submit information about other people. For example when you participate in our ‘Refer a Friend’ program you will need to submit the recipient’s name and email address, or when you order gift certificates you will need to submit the recipient’s name, email address and/or address.

We do not collect sensitive information, such as your political or religious beliefs, ethnic background or sexual preference.


How we collect personal information

Computer access

When we provide you with services, sometimes access to, and incidental copying of, your personal and confidential data is unavoidable. We will always attempt to limit our interaction with your files to a minimum. However, it is your responsibility to ensure all of your data, files and any other important information is adequately secured and backed up to safeguard it from exposure, loss, corruption or inaccessibility.

We have the ability to diagnose and solve your hardware and software issues remotely via the Internet. In order to use this service we will provide you with the necessary software that you will need to run on your computer. By downloading and running this software you are giving us permission to remotely access your computer system for the purpose of diagnosing and solving your issues.

To assist us in effectively troubleshooting and providing a fast resolution to your problem you may be prompted to accept our request to collect and send to us relevant technical information about your computer.  All of the technology is permission-based and does not send personal or other sensitive information contained on your computer. We may also record our sessions with you through the remote service for quality control and coaching purposes.


You can access personal information

You have a right to access, change and update your personal information that we hold about you at anytime. This is subject to some exceptions allowed by law. You can access your information by sending us your request (see “How to contact us” for our details). We will first need to establish your identity before information will be disclosed. This service is free unless the personal information you request requires significant preparation time. Before we act on requests of this nature, we will tell you how much this service will cost. We will respond within 14 days.


Changing and deleting personal information

We take all reasonable precautions to ensure that the personal information we collect, use and disclose is accurate, complete and up-to-date. However, the accuracy of that information depends to a large extent on the information you provide. We recommend that you let us know if there are any errors in your personal information and keep us up-to-date with changes to your personal information such as (but not limited to) your name, email address, phone number, billing and mailing addresses.

If you want us to delete the information about you on our records, please let us know and we will do our best to delete it unless we need to keep it for legal reasons. Our policy is to destroy unused information in a secure and confidential manner.

We are always listening to our customers and the general public. We respond to the feedback we get, and because of this, our privacy policy may need to change from time to time.
